These Terms of Service govern your access to and use of ShipStory. By creating an account or subscribing, you agree to be bound by these terms.

- •1-Click Cancellation: Cancel your subscription anytime directly with zero retention tricks or hidden fees.
1. Acceptance & Eligibility
By accessing ShipStory (the "Service"), you confirm that you are at least 18 years old, possess the legal capacity to form a binding agreement, and agree to comply with all applicable local, national, and international laws. If you represent a company or legal entity, you certify that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.
2. Service Description & Studio Access
ShipStory provides a software-as-a-service (SaaS) platform that inspects public and authorized private GitHub commits, extracts AST code diff statistics, and uses artificial intelligence to generate draft social posts tailored for platforms such as X (formerly Twitter).
We continuously refine and improve the Service. ShipStory reserves the right to introduce feature enhancements, deprecate legacy functionality, or modify technical rate limits with reasonable notice.
3. Subscriptions, Payments & Cancellations
Subscription Billing: Access to AI draft generation, unlimited AST commit diff extraction, and private repository sync requires an active ShipStory Plus subscription ($2/month or $24/year billed annually).
Merchant of Record: All payments, transactions, and tax calculations are handled by Dodo Payments as our official Merchant of Record. By subscribing, you agree to Dodo Payments' terms and conditions.
Cancellations: You can cancel your subscription at any time. When cancelled, your Plus benefits remain active through the conclusion of your current billing period, after which no further charges will occur.
Refunds: If you experience technical failure or duplicate charges, please email support@shipstoryai.com within 14 days for a prompt, fair resolution.
4. Intellectual Property & Commercial Rights
Your Code & Content: ShipStory claims zero ownership over your source code, GitHub commit messages, repository content, or generated posts. Everything you create in ShipStory is 100% your property.
Commercial License: You are granted a worldwide, perpetual, royalty-free license to publish, display, adapt, and commercially exploit all draft stories and social copy generated through the Service.
Platform IP: The ShipStory brand, logo, user interface designs, visual assets, software architecture, and underlying code are the proprietary intellectual property of ShipStory.
5. AI-Generated Output & Review-Before-Post Disclaimer
Draft stories are synthesized using generative AI models. While ShipStory binds generation strictly to real code facts and commit diff metrics:
- You acknowledge that AI models may occasionally generate draft wording requiring human review or factual correction.
- ShipStory utilizes a review-before-post model (Web Intent) rather than automatic posting. You are ultimately responsible for reviewing and verifying any post before publishing it to your social media accounts.
- ShipStory is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by X Corp. or GitHub, Inc.
6. Acceptable Use Policy
When using ShipStory, you agree not to:
- Attempt to bypass subscription access checks or reverse engineer server functions.
- Connect repositories you do not have legal authorization or permission to access.
- Use the AI generation pipeline to produce hate speech, harassment, malware, or defamatory content.
- Interfere with or overburden the infrastructure or AI Gateway with automated abusive scraping.
7. Limitation of Liability & Warranty Disclaimer
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS-IS" AND "AS-AVAILABLE" BASIS WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SHIPSTORY SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. IN NO EVENT SHALL SHIPSTORY'S TOTAL LIABILITY EXCEED THE TOTAL AMOUNT PAID BY YOU TO SHIPSTORY IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.
